Background & Purpose

In my college industrial design capstone class, I realized how much I enjoyed design research. Unfortunately, that phase of the project felt rushed, and I remember wishing I had more time to explore and apply new methodologies. Now, as a professional, I’ve decided to revisit and expand that research this time, using methodologies that younger me would’ve been thrilled to try! My goal is to test whether my designed solution identified and addressed the most critical user needs of gynecology patients.

"Super thoughtful but also practical and I think it would go a long way to showing that women’s needs are taken into account when getting a challenging exam"

"I like the idea of having the patient in control."

Missing User Needs

  • Accessible Test Results

  • Appointment Creation

Is there something bigger here? YES! Gynecologic healthcare has been underfunded and research is being defunded further as you read this.

Providing patient comfort and control is only one part of improving gynecological care.
